How Mercari fees work in 2026
Mercari kept things simple: a flat 10% selling fee and nothing else. Before 2025 sellers also paid 2.9% + $0.30 processing on top, but that was folded into the flat rate — so today the 10% is your entire cost. It's calculated on the item price plus any shipping the buyer pays.
That flat rate makes Mercari one of the cheapest marketplaces for mid-priced items. See how it stacks up against eBay, Poshmark, and Depop — or run them all at once in the comparison tool.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Mercari take in 2026?
A flat 10% selling fee on the item price plus buyer-paid shipping. Since 2025 Mercari rolled payment processing into that flat 10%, so there is no separate 2.9% + $0.30 charge anymore — one of the simplest fee structures in resale.
Is there a listing fee or processing fee on Mercari?
No listing fee, and no separate payment processing fee since the 2025 change. The flat 10% is all you pay as a seller.
Who pays for shipping on Mercari?
Either side can. If the buyer pays shipping, the 10% fee is calculated on item + shipping. If you offer free shipping, you cover the label out of your payout. This calculator lets you enter buyer-paid shipping to see the fee impact.
Is Mercari cheaper than eBay?
Usually yes on fees — 10% flat vs eBay’s ~13.6% + per-order fee. But eBay has far more buyers, so the higher fee can be worth it for faster sales or higher prices. Check both with our calculators.
